I would like to remind residents within the township that if you are going to have some type of open burn such as brush, leaves or other materials, the Ohio Fire Code and the EPA do not allow any open burning.  There are, however, some exceptions such as a ceremonial type bonfire for cooking and related activities.

 

When you have these types of fires, you must understand that if the Fire Department receives a complaint of an open burn that is a nuisance, we are required by law to respond and extinguish the fire.  Therefore, please be aware when burning to avoid a response from the Fire Department or action from the EPA.  If you have questions or concerns on this matter, please call me at 440-967-1017.
